Agility 101

Challenge accepted...

A basic dog agility class is designed for beginners and focuses on introducing both dogs and handlers to the foundational skills and concepts of agility.

 

Pre-Requisites: Basic Obedience, Approved through Private Tutoring Sessions or Completed a Test Out Session

 

What you will learn:

  • Introductory Obstacles: Simple obstacles like jumps, tunnels, and weave poles to familiarize dogs with agility equipment.

  • Beginner-Friendly Setups: Low heights and manageable distances to build confidence and comfort.

  • Basic Obstacle Navigation: Teaching dogs how to approach and complete each type of obstacle.

  • Building Focus: Exercises that enhance the dog's focus on the handler and their commands.

  • Basic Handling Techniques: Introduction to cues and body language to guide the dog through the course.

  • Teamwork Building: Activities designed to strengthen the bond between handler and dog, emphasizing communication and trust.

  • Group Environment: Opportunities for dogs to socialize with other dogs and handlers, fostering a positive learning environment.

  • Playful Atmosphere: A focus on fun and play to keep dogs motivated and engaged throughout the learning process.
